Wonder La
Wonder La is an awesome Fun Park on the Mysore highway, just about an hours drive from Bangalore. We, a group of 20 odd Kabira survivors, along with our Manager Ritesh and PM Raghu, went there on the 25th of March '06. Here's a group pic of all of us near its entrance.
We reached early, at around 10 AM, unaware of the fact that Wonder La opens at 11 AM. So we all ganged up and occupied a place under the artficial tree shades. Soon everybody started chatting, gossiping and fooling around. We didn't miss office much that day !!! ;-)
We had an hour to kill, which looked quite a challenging task without the computer and the internet. So all of us started playing games like "Fuzzy Duck" and "Chinese Whispers". Rakesh with his malayalam tongue-twisters and Ramya with her "Does he F***?" game were simply amazing... errr ... amusing.
On top of that, we had three more amusing creatures with us, which kept all of us entertained throughout the trip. Ramya is simply amazing when her mouth is shut like this (which is not very often, mind you!!). Otherwise people just hope to be like Maria (on the left). He he!! :-)
At 11 AM we got to enter The Wonder La. We straightaway went to the lockers to change. When we came out, the place looked simply awesome!! The rides were very enticing to most of us, especially the water rides. The team strategy was to first get wet in one of the water rides and then later try out the remaining ones.
The water ride Splash !! was the first one we took. Me, Ashish, Ravi and Maria went to the ride with just the intention to get our snaps clicked. Sitting on the driver's seat is great fun. Ashish with his loud shrieks added to the thrill we had during that time. After getting wet it was time to dry-up, so we went on to try the other rides.
There are some really thrilling rides both wet and dry. While, some of them like the Giant Wheel is ridiculous. The others such as Maverick, Techno Jump, Y-Scream, Hurricane, etc are simply amazing. Look...
After all the fun, it was time for even more fun!! The Wave Pool was jam packed, but we still dived in. It was truly amazing to see people (read "huge people") like Ashish defy gravity with the help of such waves. Every time we got tired of it, Baywatch Babes came for our rescue... ;-) (Ahem!! Remember Ashish??)
It was getting cooler as the evening approached, so we decided to visit The Ant House to pose for some more photographs. We managed to reach pretty close to it, only to find later, the roller-coaster rides are for kiddos. Still, for the sake of paisa wasooli, we gave it a shot. Namitha, however, was damn excited after the "enthrilling" ride.... ;-)
The Crazy Cars were supposedly the last ride the time permitted. But inspite of the long queue we waited anxiously for our chances. Amabel was the target that me and Ashish initially planned out. But she escaped unhurt cos Ashish faced some gear box and suspension problems. Here's he saying " ek-ek ko dekh loonga... " ;-)
The Monkey Round-Round Ride (name changed, cos I forgot the real one) was the final ride we rode. We did a lot of kiddo-stuff just before this. So we decided to leave Wonder La with our adrenaline on a slightly higher note. It was then... time to say bubye...
Here's the Gang Photograph of all of us before we returned back home in the bus. As always, the THBSians valued every second and wrapped up the wonderful trip, right on time !!
Hip Hip Hurray !! The last burst of energy for the day. It was then time to retire on the bus seats....
